Preview Dine Downtown Sacramento's Restaurant Week! (January 11-21, 2019)
The other night I had the pleasure of previewing a few restaurants participating in this year’s Dine Downtown Sacramento. Dine Downtown Restaurant Week (January 11-21, 2019) is 11 days, 35 restaurants, and features specially curated 3-course menus for only $35 a person! Plus, one dollar from every meal donated to social services and food literacy programs.
First stop on the Grid was Downtown, Sacramento’s Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Co.. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now, so I was excited they were a part of this special preview.

My personal favorites were the Spaghetti Squash with broccolini, Patatas Bravas, and Tarta De Chocolate. I love the vibe in this place. It’s modern industrial with some touches of foliage which I’m all about. You can download the menu here.
The next stop on The Grid was Station 16 Seafood Restaurant & Bar! I’m actually a regular here, so I already knew it was going to be amazing.
So let’s check out what they’re serving.
Calamari Lemon aioli and cocktail sauce
Wedge Salad Crisp Romaine, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions, feta cheese and cilantro
Shrimp Ceviche Fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and real lime juice
Fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and real lime juice
Korean Style Short Ribs Served over garlic rice with a side of fresh Kimchi
Cajun Shrimp Pasta Tomato garlic cream sauce, andouille sausage, spinach and parmesan cheese
If you’re a seafood lover, Station 16 is the way to go, but I do have to give a special mention to the Korean Style Short Ribs Served over garlic rice with a side of fresh Kimchi. It was bomb.com. Click here to download the menu.
Our final stop for the night was The Firehouse in Old Sacramento. I have no idea how this restaurant managed to fly under my radar, but better late than never! I just loved the vibe immediately after walking in. It was like going back in time to the old western days. The architecture, the decor, and the service all had a refined, turn of the century yet somehow modern feel. Definitely in a class of its own.
We were in for a treat!
